Presidents' Council
Val is a community leader and has over 30 years of experience in philanthropy, primarily focused on issues relating to women, girls, and people with special needs. In the last 15 years, Val has focused on issues related to gender equity and human rights for underserved communities. Val serves on the boards of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, The Center for Victims of Torture, and CommonBond Communities. Val is a former board member of Pathfinder International.
A graduate of Williams College in Massachusetts, Val’s career spans commercial banking in New York City to investment banking in Minnesota to being a girl’s high school lacrosse coach for 10 years in retirement. Residing in Minnesota with her husband Ed for 40 winters, they have three adult children and two grandchildren.
