Overview
2014–2021
An advocacy initiative that aims to increase the financial investment and political commitment needed to ensure access to quality, voluntary family planning (FP) through evidence-based advocacy. The project has supported local advocates and the media in 12 states to provide decision makers with evidence to invest in family planning through budget allocation and enabling a policy environment that will ensure access to quality FP.
Project Activities
Set up and provided financial and technical support to 12 state advocacy working groups (AWGs) to implement state FP advocacy objectives.
Built capacity of advocates on the AFP SMART Advocacy Approach and Budget Tracking for improved advocacy outcomes.
Built capacity of journalists to investigate and develop human interest stories and media content to support FP advocacy.
Held seminars on FP for local FP Champions and influencers (traditional, religious, and youth leaders).
