GreenTech: Inspiring Environment
Project Goals
Improve employability of underserved populations in Jordan through education and career preparedness activities
Promote environmentally sustainable economic growth, social inclusivity, and resilience within local communities
Strengthen and utilize alliances between Pathfinder, Green Tech, and Jordan's Securities Depository Center to improve economic security among marginalized communities
Overview
Almost one-third of Jordan’s population is aged 16–30, but only 26% are employed. Young people in Jordan face increased barriers to economic participation, including lack of formal job opportunities, a gap between job seekers’ skills and employers’ needs, and lack of social safety nets.
With a focus on environmentally sustainable economic growth and social inclusivity, the project addresses these barriers through innovative education, capacity strengthening, and career preparedness activities for young people, women, and refugees. By fostering resilience and increased economic agency within Jordan’s underserved populations, more people can contribute to their communities, improve their economic prospects, and live healthier lives. The Improving Leadership and Employability Among Underserved Populations project works in alignment with Jordan’s national policies and strategies, including Jordan’s Response Plan for the Syria Crisis, Country Status Report, and Vision 2025—to build alliances for greater economic security.
