Water Quality Monitoring in a Fragile Security Setting: Experiences from RISE II Projects in Burkina Faso

Join us on Friday, July 26 for a discussion highlighting RISE II’s activities to provide people in Burkina Faso with access to quality water.

The East, Sahel and Centre-North regions are the most affected by the security situation. These three regions record the highest rates of population displacement, at 11%, 24% and 24% respectively, according to the health cluster’s bulletin N°5, May 2024. This situation has serious health consequences for the lives of the people living in these regions.

USAID funding in this area of Burkina Faso has made it possible to monitor water quality at several water points, both in health facilities and at community level.

This webinar provides a space for national stakeholders and technical and financial partners to learn more about USAID’s interventions in the RISE II zone in Burkina Faso on context-specific drinking water quality monitoring, as well as collaboration between USAID’s implementing partners (IPs).

The aim is to exchange ideas on the quality of drinking water supplied to populations and to motivate other technical and financial partners working in this field to act. This webinar will also give stakeholders the opportunity to understand how monitoring is carried out, and better adjust their programs to include water quality monitoring to promote the well-being, health, comfort and safety of drinking water supply infrastructures.
