Overview
In Mozambique, Pathfinder supports the Government of Mozambique to achieve HIV and AIDS epidemic control and establish a sustainable government-led HIV response.
Pathfinder and its partners implement USAID Efficiencies for Clinical HIV Outcomes (ECHO) in Sofala province. The project provides support to Mozambique’s health authorities in responding effectively to the HIV and AIDS epidemic. Pathfinder builds on past models used to improve efficiency in service delivery for HIV and AIDS services. The project carries out HIV testing, early antiretroviral therapy, and supports those who are HIV-positive to maintain their treatment regimen. The project also monitors viral load to ensure viral suppression for all people receiving antiretroviral therapy, while supporting prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) and integrated tuberculosis (TB) and HIV activities.
The goal of the ECHO activity is to support the Government of Mozambique’s to achieve control of the HIV and AIDS epidemic, establishing a sustainable, government-led HIV response in provinces where USAID is the primary clinical support partner.
