Women Received Postabortion Care
Overview
Our Yam Yankre project, meaning “my choice” in Mòoré, collaborates with the Ministry of Health to support Burkinabè women in accessing high quality contraception—particularly long-acting reversible contraceptives and permanent methods—and comprehensive abortion care services in 110 facilities across four districts.
Project Activities
- Strengthen local NGOs and their network of community health workers so more people in more places have access to the reproductive health services they need.
- Make sure short-term, long-acting, permanent, and emergency contraception are always available, so people of all ages can choose the method that’s best for them.
- Make sure women can access safe, legal abortion services, including lifesaving postabortion care, so they can protect their health.
- Train health workers to deliver services to young people without judgement or bias, so first-time parents can get the services they need and the quality of care they deserve.
