Country Director
A champion of sexual and reproductive health, as well as health statistics, Dr. Yao had more than 20 years of experience in public health in Côte d’Ivoire before joining Pathfinder International as the country director in 2019. He served as a clinical doctor, a civil servant in the Ministry of Security before joining the Ministry of Health in 2009. At the Ministry of Health, Dr. Yao worked in the Directorate of Health Statistics and then in the National Maternal and Child Health Program (PNSME). At PNSME, Dr. Yao coordinated the establishment of the national maternal death surveillance system and the production of annual reports on maternal, neonatal, child and family planning health indicators.
Dr. Yao holds a doctorate in Medicine from the University of Cocody-Abidjan. He also holds a master’s degree in Population and Health from the Higher Institute of Population Sciences in Ouagadougou focused on Analysis of Health Policy and System.
