Kate Brennan

Kate Brennan is a retired health care attorney with three decades of experience in the public and private sector.

Kate focused her legal career on innovation in the health care sector. She served in legal leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group, a FORTUNE 50 corporation, including as Deputy General Counsel of UnitedHealth Group. Most recently, in 2016, she joined the legal team for Bright Health Group, a health care start-up based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and served as Chief Legal Officer for its NeueHealth segment, which is dedicated to aligning the delivery and financing of health care.

Kate served as an elder abuse and health care fraud prosecutor with the Minnesota Office of the Attorney General. Prior to her legal career, she worked as a human rights activist, labor representative, and lobbyist, focused on economic and social justice.

Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin and a Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota. She was named a Ford Foundation Scholar with the University of Minnesota Human Right Center and served as an assistant to the United States representative on the United Nations Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities.
