Kathleen Motzenbecker

Kathleen is the U.S. Partnerships Lead at Alight (formerly the American Refugee Committee), a global non-profit that serves 3.5 million displaced people around the world.  She previously served on Operation Allies Welcome Minnesota with Afghan newcomers and as an advisor to the Iraqi American Reconciliation Project. In 2015, the Minnesota Business Journal named Kathleen one of its “Top 50 Women in Business” for her work as Executive Director of the Minnesota Trade Office.  She also previously served as the Asia Pacific Trade Director in Illinois.  In Washington, DC, Kathleen held senior positions with the U.S. Committee for UNDP and the Council on Foreign Relations.  She has monitored nearly 20 elections overseas, primarily in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

She lives in Minneapolis with her husband David, a Shinrin-yoku expert, and their daughter.
